They have to be dealt with by hand. For everything else (small blackberries, young ivy, Stinky Bob...) this trimmer sounds like it will do the job. I'm off to find it locally! Thanks so much for the tip!
Azarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08011756547431804355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5453792360015486892.post-16820888518833104912015-07-09T12:52:15.010-07:002015-07-09T12:52:15.010-07:00The new weedeater is made by Black & Decker. It has variable power, so you can turn it up high for the really tough underbrush and down for the small stuff to save the battery. The charger stops charging once the battery is full, so you don't waste electricity or damage the battery. It's got to be an improvement over the one with the cord.

The big adult blackberries on our property still have to be cut by hand, but I'm pretty sure the model I got would work for everything you have.

Your'e right that weed whacking is wonderful physical and psychological therapy!Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17617147322518152988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5453792360015486892.post-28723991137878312242015-07-09T11:42:03.055-07:002015-07-09T11:42:03.055-07:00Hi Ellen,
OH YES! Congratulations! A new weed eate...Hi Ellen,
OH YES! Congratulations! A new weed eater :) Can you mention where you bought it and who made it (here on the blog)? As you know I cannot handle the big gas powered versions either and have been using electric chorded models (have gone through at least six in the last 15 years or so) that have a little more power than the old battery operated versions. The big problem with these is that I cannot reach the boundaries of our little acre with the longest chords. It sounds like your new weed eater is a big improvement over the older battery models and may have the POWER to whack away the some serious underbrush! There is something truly therapeutic about weed whacking!
Azar Azarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08011756547431804355noreply@blogger.com
