MONDAY GIVEAWAY: PERFUME AND COSMETICS SAMPLES

OK, it's a day late, but at least here it is - the periodic giveaway.

I’m not only a perfume sample junkie, I’m also a cosmetics sample junkie. I love those little packets, tubes, and bottles, and will buy full sized things, usually things that I actually want, to get more of them even though I have enough. My cosmetics collection rivals my perfume collection, and I actually use both of these collections so little that it doesn’t make a lot of sense to keep them at their current size. I would like, at the very least, to create some sort of homeostasis so that things move out at the same rate they move in.

This week’s exercise in elimination will include the usual 100 g of assorted fragrance samples, but it will also include a variety of mint-condition skin-care and skin-enhancement samples. I’m pretty particular (and lazy) about what I put on my face. I don’t use any sort of sunscreen product, and I never use any sort of foundation unless I’m going to engage in a major photo shoot. I won’t use lotions, moisturizers, serums, and other such things if I don’t like the smell, or if they’re strongly perfumed, even if it’s a scent that I might like in another context. I don’t use face primers, highlighters, contourers (is that a word?), or face powders. Nevertheless, I’m always receiving unsolicited samples of these things, and they just sit gathering dust. If you like face products, you’re in luck this week because the giveaway includes a goodie bag full of these things.

To enter the drawing, leave a comment about whether you use face products of any sort and, if so, what you like and/or dislike.

  1. i've a very sensitive and dry skin, redness problem, so I have to use a lot of protective, hydrating cream.
I think my skin is able to absorb butter even...

  2. I use a lot of sample/deluxe size skincare and cosmetics when I travel. It’s so much easier carrying sachets and small tubes on airplanes. I usually try to collect face creams, serums and eye creams and I love trying deluxe size color cosmetics (lipsticks/mascaras).

  3. I use samples and things that my daughter's tell me to try, I don't like a lot of heavy creams on my face, feels sort of greasy or oily, a light lotion is good. I do love trying cosmetics, still trying to find the perfect foundation. I thank you and appreciate the chance to try new things. :) Email - tenderninnieATaolDOTcom

  4. I'm allergic to lanolin, so that's a definite no-no. Otherwise, while I tend to go with either all-natural or pharmacy-sold stuff, I also sometimes use whatnot (if it smells good that's a definite slip-point :D )

    1. Anonymous, I'm also allergic to lanolin. Fortunately, I don't think it's used much any more. You're in the drawing.

  5. i'm pretty lazy as well, I try to wash my face at the end of the day, but I don't always get to it - I use sunscreen in the summer, but generally stick to drugstore brands. thank you for the drawing!

  6. I discovered my current favorite face cleanser from a Sephora sample. However, my favorite samples are hair care products. I would rather carry sample sizes to the gym/travel than big bottles that take up a lot of room and are prone to spill.

    1. Anne, I use all of the hair care samples I get, so don't think those will be in a future giveaway. Anyway, you're entered in this one.
